I never expected the man in black Would get the best of me I was just following my destiny Above the cliffs of insanity I search for the six fingered man Alas this man has only five I hate to kill him I’m sure he hates to die It’s good at last to be tested It can be lonely at the top But what if I were bested I supposed I’d have to stop And there’d be nowhere to go, but back to the beginning No reason or rhyme - only losing no winning To have failed on my quest, for my soul there’d be no ointment I would go back to the beginning And get used to disappointment Our battling blades go snicker snack As I battle this mystery man But I know something he doesn’t I don’t fence with my left hand No I am not left handed I go on a thrusting spree But he knows something I don’t know Neither is he Who is this man in black? Another lover of the foil? I will never know He strikes me with his fist and down I go And where will I go Except back to the beginning No reason or rhyme Only losing, no winning I have failed on my quest For my soul there is no ointment I ‘ll just go back to the beginning And get used to disappointment

Well you’re standing on the edge Don’t know which way to lean Everything looks scary When you’re caught in between Where you’ve been and where you’re going But it’s time to make the leap Time to forge ahead Not time to worry Bout what have could have been instead Cuz there’s no way of knowing So just follow your heart Follow your dream You can be anyone, you could be anything When you’re stuck in your head And don’t know where to start Follow your dream Follow your heart So there you go Off into the world Steely-eyed determination Majesty unfurled They’re not prepared, for what they’re getting There’ll be good days and bad Friends will come and go Hold your head up high Never let go You’re moving forward, not forgetting So just follow your heart Follow your dream You can be anyone, you could be anything When you’re stuck in your head And don’t know where to start Follow your dream Follow your heart They tell you that the world is hard out there That may be true but I don’t care Cause I know you’ll make its through If you’ll just be who you are And follow your heart Follow your dream You can be anyone, you could be anything When you’re stuck in your head And don’t know where to start Follow your dream Follow your heart

Don't Blink 02:49
You got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 little fingers And 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 little toes Two eyes, two ears, but you only got one nose There’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, pennies in a nickel And five more in a dime Ain’t it nice when life is simple But that changes over time Now you turned 13, 14, 15, 16 I can’t tell you anything Well I can say it, but you won’t hear it I guess you think I’m just muttering You remember when life was simple Wish you knew it’s simple still CAn’t wait to see who you’re becoming Like I know I will So I Don’t Blink Cause every little bit counts I take it all in, And let it sink in In large and small amounts Now you’re 17,18,19, 20 Out in the world you go You don’t look back But I can’t stop watching Life ain’t simple, don’tcha know And I don’t blink Cause every little bit counts I take it all in and let it sink in In large and small amounts (but who’s counting) I see you once in a while And you’re twice the person I ever dreamed you’d be You said three little words and off you go To be happy for eternity But you know life ain’t always that simple Like your finding out And now you got one of yer own That you can teach to count And they’ve got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 little fingers And 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 little toes Enjoy it while their life’s still simple Cause that changes as they grow And don’t blink Cause every little bit counts Take it all in and let it sink In large and small amounts And don’t blink

When the candle’s burnin down, the wine glasses are low And the waiter comes around to ask if we’re ready to go And she looks me in the eye, I just don’t want this to end So I look at him and I say, “One last drink, my friend” Give me one last drink, give me one for the road We ain’t in no hurry, ain’t got nowhere to go One last drink, yeah give me one for the road What could go wrong, I’ve done it so many times before So now we’re cruising down the highway, she’s got her hand on my knee And I look in the rearview, what’s that I see? Bright red and blue, a cruiser flashing his lights He pulls me over and asks me, sir have you been drinking to night I just had one last drink, yeah I had one for the road Cause we weren’t in no hurry, ain’t got nowhere to go One last drink, yeah give me one for the road What could go wrong, I’ve done it so many times before So he makes me walk a line and try to say backwards ABCs Is it T or R that comes right before Z Before I know it I’m sitting in his back seat And she’s in the rear view yelling and cursing at me I just had one last drink yeah I hadone for the road Cause we weren’t in no hurry, ain’t got nowhere to go We had one last drink, yeah one for the road What could go wrong, I’ve done it so many times before So now I’m in the holding tank some big guy gives me evil eye I ask him what he’s looking at, and immediately ask myself why So he walks across the cell, and picks me up by the hair He’s got mean left and then he kicks me you know where I just had one last drink yeah one for the road Why’d I drive away, I didn’t have nowhere to go I’ll never see her again, it won’t matter even so Because of one last drink, yeah one for the road
